January 2006 – The Texas Archeological Society's Donors Fund is the recipient of a $10,000.00 bequest from the estate of the late Shirley Lee Thompson. According to her attorney, Miss Thompson was a chemical engineer with Shell Oil Company in Houston. She developed Alzheimer's several years ago. The TAS membership records indicate that Ms. Thompson was a member from 1965 until 1992 (28 years).

The interest from the TAS Donors Fund is used for grants and loans to support worthy archeological projects not fully funded from other sources.
