Each year SHUMLA invites an internationally known rock art expert to be the co-leader of an incredible week of learning about Lower Pecos rock art and archaic lifeways. In 2009 that researcher will be Dr. Jean Clottes of France. Dr. Clottes is involved in rock art recording and studying in the caves of Chauvet, Cosquer, Lasceau, and Tuc d'Audoubert in France, and has visited and studied rock art around the world. He has published over 350 scientific articles and published or edited 24 books.
Come join Dr. Clottes and Dr. Carolyn Boyd as they examine spectacular rock art in the Lower Pecos region of Texas.
For more information, or to register, contact the SHUMLA office.
